6 MONTHS

Mark Ripetoe in his article below said that if I strength train for weightlifting I will become the picture below the article.

Who doesn't want to lift like fucking Pyrros? I am not going to get into the full article. Let me give the synopsis. Weightlifting is not strength training. I get that. Weightlifting is a Sport and like all Sports it can be trained for outside of your actual sport and the best way to do that is by Strength Training. Mark kind of laid forth a challenge. I like challenges. So, Dicky A, Jeremy and I will come up with something but here is my plan for right now. Weightlifting practice goes in the morning from 0600 to 0730. In the afternoon evening time I will lift two lifts. If you read the manifesto, you know when I squat, so the lifts I will do will be deadlift, strict press, bench press, overhead squat, pendlay rows, pullups (wieghted and non weighted). Kind of a one push, one pull per training session. I will try this for the first month and see the results it yields but I want to do it for a full 6 months and see where my competition lifts go. The only direction from here is up, but we shall see. Tomorrow's practice schedule looks like this;

3 position snatch - 1 x 7 heaviest possible
3 position clean - 1 x 7 heaviest possible
push jerk + split jerk 1+1 x 7 heaviest possible
front squat 2 x 5 @ 205

then the strength portion will go like this in the evening

Strict Press - Heavy Single (gotta see where I am)
Pendlay Row - 155 x ME (Max Effort) x 5
Back Extension - ME x 3
Situps - ME x 3

Fuck Yeah!
